Race Judicata, the UW Law School's annual walk-or-run competition sponsored by the Wisconsin Public Interest Law Foundation, drew a total of 187 registrants and netted more than $1,900 on Saturday, October 16, 2004.

Participants gathered in Olin Park to brave the inclement weather of an unseasonably cold weekend (40 degrees with a 20-25 mph wind, resulting in a 20-degree wind chill).

Funds from Race Judicata are used for summer grants to students to enable them to afford to work in unpaid or low-paid public interest law jobs.

In addition to registration fees, the event was aided by local businesses that contributed prizes for top finishers and for the raffle, and food at the finish line.

Organizers included Abby Hougan, Erin Freiburg, Samantha Kading, Joel Mandelman, Karen Keith, Stacia Conneely, and Greg Renden.
