Each year, licensed attorneys in Dane County are asked to name the top lawyers in more than thirty specialty areas as part of an issue of Madison Magazine devoted to the legal profession. The recently published January 2005 issue lists seven University of Wisconsin Law School clinical faculty members among the best lawyers in Madison: Betsy J. Abramson (Elder Law), Juliet M. Brodie (Public Interest Law), Ralph M. Cagle (Alternative Dispute Resolution), Marsha M. Mansfield (Consumer Law), Stephen E. Meili (Consumer Law, Public Interest Law), Louise G. Trubek (Public Interest Law), Susan R. Steingass (Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury).

In addition to these full-time faculty members, the magazine listed more than twenty-five current and recent UW Law School adjunct faculty members, practitioners who bring specialized knowledge and experience to the classroom.
