Conglomerate, the Web log (blog) of UW Law Professor Gordon Smith, received numerous posts and generated nationwide interest when Smith convened a symposium on the ruling by the Delaware Court of Chancery in early August that the board of Disney productions was not liable to shareholders for its payment to former chief executive Michael Ovitz. Smith’s announcement can be seen here, and all posts from the symposium are here.
The symposium quickly became the object of many links from other blogs, and it was also cited by The New York Times and Slate (scroll down).
In addition, Smith was interviewed and quoted in the following media sources:
Editorial Board, Judging Disney, Wall Street Journal, August 11, 2005
Susan Strother Clarke, Ovitz Ruling Shortchanges Shareholders, Orlando Sentinel, August 10, 2005
