Justice Patrick Crooks of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin will be at the UW Law School on Wednesday, October 5, to speak on "Recent Wisconsin Court Decisions and the Wisconsin Constitution." Following his talk, which will be in Room 3250 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a short question-and-answer period, followed by a reception.

Justice Crooks has been on the Wisconsin Supreme Court since 1996. Before joining the Court, he served 19 years on the bench in Brown County. From 1964 to 1966, he served as a U.S. Army officer at the Pentagon, in the Office of the Judge Advocate General. He also worked in private practice in 1963, and again from 1966 to 1977. While in private practice, he taught business law at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Justice Crooks was named Trial Judge of the Year in 1994 by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
