Professor Kathryn Hendley has been named Interim Associate Dean for Faculty Research and Development at the University of Wisconsin Law School for the 2006 calendar year. Hendley will fill the position while incumbent Associate Dean Alta Charo is on leave as a Visiting Professor at the University of California-Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).
In announcing the appointment, Law School Dean Kenneth B. Davis, Jr., thanked Hendley, who is already filling a number of commitments: as a professor in the department of Political Science, vice chair of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee, and director of CREECA (Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia), in addition to her own extensive research.
“I deeply appreciate her sense of service in taking on the additional responsibilities of the Associate Deanship at this time,” Davis said. "She brings to the job both an impressive scholarly record and a body of administrative experience at the campus level. We will all benefit greatly from both."
Information on Kathryn Hendley's work can be found on the Law School Web site at www.law.wisc.edu/facstaff/biog.php?ID=293 and at www.polisci.wisc.edu/users/hendley.
