UW Law School student Regan Quick-Severin 3L has been named the recipient of the Dane County Bar Association (DCBA) Law Student Pro Bono Award for her services over the past year to Community Justice, Inc., a non-profit legal services organization in Madison.

Quick-Severin serves as a volunteer, covering responsibilities including legal research and intake interviews, with the firm. CJI focuses on assistance to low-income individuals.

At the Pro Bono Breakfast where the award was conferred on Quick-Severin, two recent UW law alumni were also honored: Sarah Helvey ‘04 was recognized for her work, also at Community Justice, Inc., in providing legal services to low-income and unrepresented individuals; and Benjamin Schulenburg ‘00, of the law firm Schulenberg & Father, was honored for his pro bono work with victims of domestic violence.

Alumnus Allan Koritzinsky ‘66 received a certificate of appreciation for his monetary support of the Family Law Assistance Center at the UW Law School and his work as a mediator in Dane County.

Keynote speaker for the event was UW Law School Professor Meg Gaines, Attorney and Director of the Center for Patient Partnerships.
