University of Wisconsin Law School student Gordon M. Wright was one of five national prize-winners in the Seventh Annual Intellectual Property Writing Competition sponsored by the firm of Foley & Lardner LLP.

Wright’s paper, on the Experimental Use Exception, earned one of the contest’s three Honorable Mention prizes.  Wright received the honor formally at an award ceremony in Washington, D.C., on August 11, 2006.

Submissions were judged on originality of thought, contributions to the law and practice, completeness of scholarly research, and overall style and content of the work.

Wright, whose undergraduate degree was in engineering, studied Patent Law at the UW Law School with Professor Pilar N. Ossorio.
