Kelly J. Noyes and Elyce M. Wos have been named winners of the Association of Women Lawyers (AWL) scholarship for 2006, in recognition of academic excellence and outstanding service to the law school community and community at large.
Wos and Noyes will each receive a scholarship of $2,500. The AWL will present the award formally to the winners on September 26, 2006, at a ceremony in Milwaukee.
"All of the candidates had outstanding qualifications, which made selection of the recipients truly a difficult task," said Patricia Lauten, Director of Professionalism for AWL.
Kelly Noyes, who plans to graduate with a J.D. in May 2007, received her undergraduate education Michigan State University, earning a B.A. in Business Administration.
Elyce Wos is a candidate for both a J.D. degree and an M.A. in Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies in December 2007. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with majors in Behavioral Science and Law, and Spanish, and a certificate in Criminal Justice.
Both students have maintained academic excellence in Law School while participating in a busy schedule of clinical work and making significant contributions to the Law School and the local community.
