First-year UW law student Alfonso N. (Al) Cornish II has been selected to receive the Godfrey & Kahn Fellowship in Law. The fellowship will provide Cornish with a full three-year scholarship, as well as mentoring by Godfrey & Kahn attorneys and employment as a summer associate at the firm’s Madison office, LaFollette Godfrey & Kahn, following his first year of law school.
Cornish received both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, cum laude, from Florida A&M University. He has worked as a financial analyst for the past five years, including international finance experience in Europe.
"Godfrey & Kahn’s Fellowship in Law enables talented and hard-working students to pursue a career in law," said Rick Bliss, managing partner of Godfrey & Kahn. "Ultimately, it is our hope to help provide the state of Wisconsin with successful attorneys who have diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the legal field."
