A major gift from the firm of Habush Habush & Rottier has led to a new name in the Law School: the Law Library’s Grand Reading Room was officially rededicated as the Habush Habush & Rottier Reading Room at a reception on Friday, September 29, 2006. The celebration also honored a substantial building renovation project contributed by the firm, many of whose attorneys are alumni of the Law School.
"This was the Habush Firm’s vision: wanting to keep the Law School up-to-date," commented Dean Kenneth B. Davis, Jr., in appreciation of the donation. Partners Robert Habush (Class of 1961) and Dan Rottier (Class of 1976) spearheaded the plan to underwrite improvements that the School needed after ten years of wear and tear since its most recent renovation in 1996.
The ceremony was led by Dean Davis, who was joined by guest speakers Governor Jim Doyle, Habush, and Rottier. Attending the ceremony were attorneys from the Habush firm; Law School faculty, staff, and students; and guests including Wisconsin Supreme Court justices Louis Butler and David Prosser, alumni of the Law School.
