Gov. Jim Doyle has tapped UW Law School graduate and LEO alum Michael L. Morgan ‘84 to be secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) in the governor’s second-term Cabinet. The DOA is the most powerful agency in state government.

Morgan currently serves in Doyle’s Cabinet as Revenue Secretary. He will begin his new post on January 1, 2007, succeeding DOA chief  Stephen Bablitch, another Law School graduate (Class of 1979).

As secretary of the administration, Morgan will oversee the development of the state budget and supervise day-to-day operations of state government. Doyle commented in a December 1 press conference announcing the appointment, "We have a big agenda for the second term. I want Mike to help me get the job done."
