Nilesh Patel is the 2006 recipient of the Charles Dunn Author Award
Nilesh Patel, a 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and a J.D. Advisor in the Law School's Office of Career Services, has been named the 2006 recipient of the Charles Dunn Author Award by the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Each year the editorial board of Wisconsin Lawyer, the official magazine of the State Bar, chooses one article as the best to be published in the magazine during the preceding year.
The State Bar’s Communications Committee, in awarding the honor to Patel, wrote "It’s not easy to write good prose. It is also not easy to explain complex legal issues. You did both in the best article published during 2006."
Patel’s article, published in the October 2006 issue, was titled "When Lovebirds Split: Dividing the Retirement Nest Egg at Divorce – Properly Dividing Pension Benefits."
Patel will receive the Dunn Award formally at the State Bar’s Annual Convention in Milwaukee on May 9, 2007.
