The 13th Annual Traffic and Impaired Driving Law Program, organized by the Law School’s Resource Center on Impaired Driving, will be Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10-11, 2007, at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel, Appleton.

Approximately 20 speakers with wide-ranging expertise will participate in this comprehensive program to provide information on traffic law and impaired-driving law to prosecutors, law enforcement officers, general practitioners, and others who work in the area of impaired driving.

Topics of talks will include a Legislative Update; Case Law Update; "Drugged Driving: Toxicology for the Lay Person"; "Technology in Drunk-Driving Cases"; and "Evidentiary Issues in Traffic & OWI Cases."

Eight workshop sessions are also planned, covering topics such as "Breath Alcohol Paperwork Made Easy," "Reading Driver Records," "Taking Courtroom Presentations to the Next Level," and "News from the Chemical Test Section: Introducing the Intoximeter EC/IR II".

A special opportunity will be Breath Alcohol Testing with Intoximeter EC/IR II, provided by the Chemical Test Section of the Wisconsin State Patrol, from 5 to 8 p.m. on April 10.

A total of 11.5 CLE credits are approved for the program, which includes an additional Ethics Credit for those who attend the workshop session "Trafficking in Ethics: The Office of Lawyer Regulation," to be presented by Attorney Bill Weigel.
