In late March and early April, 2007, Professor Chuck Irish of the University of Wisconsin Law School’s East Asian Legal Studies Center (EALSC) gave several talks in Vietnam and in China.
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Irish presented a series of lectures on "Doing Business with the United States: The Legal Environment." The lectures were co-sponsored by the EALSC and Vietnam's International Business and Law Academy. Most of the attendees were Vietnamese lawyers and business people.
In Shanghai, Irish presented a lecture on China's obligations of transparency and accountability at the China Executive Leadership Academy - Pudong. The attendees were members of the Chinese Communist Party who work in government or state-owned enterprises.
Irish next gave talks to the students and faculty of Nanjing and Yantai universities in China on "The Changing Face of Sino-American Economic Relations: Implications for Lawyers and Legal Education."
