University of Wisconsin Law School Professor Lisa Alexander presented her emerging research on "Stakeholder Participation in New Governance" at a national conference in June 2007 at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.

The conference, "Jurisgenesis 2007: New Voices on the Law," brought a select group of new legal scholars and their faculty mentors together for two days, with the purpose of offering individuals who recently entered the legal academy an opportunity to learn from both their peers and experienced consumers of legal scholarship.

Professor Elizabeth Mertz accompanied Alexander as a faculty mentor and commented on other participants' papers.

Participants from 11 law schools presented their works-in-progress to associate deans and other senior faculty. Conference participants represented the law schools of Loyola-Los Angeles; Saint Louis University; Washington and Lee University; and the universities of Alabama, Florida, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Wisconsin.

Alexander presented an earlier version of the same paper on June 1 at the Interschool Junior Faculty Poverty Law Workshop held at American University's Washington College of Law, where Professor Louise Trubek also served as a senior faculty commentator on various papers.
