The UW Law School and the Las Vegas firm of Lionel Sawyer & Collins joined to present an Ethics CLE program on the Saturday of the Badgers football game against UNLV on September 8, 2007, at the firm’s office. Attorney Paul R. Hejmanowski ‘72, Shareholder and Managing Partner of the firm, served as moderator. Teachers of the class were Professor Ralph Cagle of the Law School and Nevada attorney Dennis Kennedy.

Representing the Law School at the gathering were Dean Kenneth B. Davis, Jr.; Professor Charles Irish, Director of the East Asian Legal Studies Center; and Jini Rabas ‘04, Director of Alumni Relations.

Rabas told the group of combined Nevada and Wisconsin attorneys that the event was a response to several requests for a CLE program in conjunction with the game. "We always like to hear from our alumni about services we can provide for them," Rabas said. "We are listening and want to make sure that we are putting on events that meet the needs of our graduates."

After the class, Rabas commented, "We received really good feedback from many of the alums who attended this event, and it’s something we are considering doing in other places."

The Badgers emerged victorious from the evening football match, 20-13.
