The University of Wisconsin Law School will host the international conference "Law & Democratization in Taiwan and South Korea: Twenty Years' Experience" on Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, 2007, in the Quarles & Brady Reading Room of the UW Law Library.

UW Law Professor John Ohnesorge, Vice-Director of the UW East Asian Legal Studies Center, will host the event.

Registration is free, with an October 15 deadline. Walk-ins will be welcome but advance registration is encouraged to facilitate planning. For anyone who intends to come, please e-mail Charlotte Frascona (frascona@wisc.edu) giving your institutional affiliation and indicating whether you plan to attend both days.

The event is co-sponsored by the Global Legal Studies Center (a joint project of the Law School and the Division of International Studies) and the Center for East Asian Studies at UW-Madison, with substantial support from the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office, Chicago, and the Seoul National University Foundation.
