"Practice Safe Law," a three-hour Ethics Program for attorneys and law students, will be presented Saturday, December 1, 2007, by the Resource Center on Impaired Driving at the UW Law School in cooperation with the Wisconsin State Bar Lawyer Assistance Program and the Dane County Bar Association.
The event will take place in Godfrey & Kahn Hall, Room 2260 of the Law School, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Attorney Mary Alice Coan, Attorney Bill Weigel of the Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR), and Dr. Greg Van Rybroek of Mendota Mental Health Institute will address those aspects of a lawyer’s practice that frequently cause individuals to engage in conduct that is detrimental to themselves and their practice.
The program’s goal is to help individuals learn how to prevent OLR complaints, limit substance abuse, and treat mental health issues.
Program fee is $45, with the fee waived for students. A registration form is available online at http://www.law.wisc.edu/rcid/events/ .
For questions or registration without using the Internet, contact Nina J. Emerson, Director of the Resource Center for Impaired Driving, by e-mail at ninaj@wisc.edu., or by phone at (608) 265-3411.
