A Special Report to run on the Channel 15 (WMTV) 6 p.m. news on Thursday, May 15, 2008, will feature University of Wisconsin Law School Professor Michael Scott and his students in the seminar "Selected Problems in Policing." The students and Scott were interviewed in April by reporter Zach Schultz.

The segment is part of a series on issues of homeless people in Madison. This year Scott has structured the seminar so that the entire class is studying a range of issues and problems that police and prosecutors confront in connection with homeless and/or street people.

The specific problems studied in the class, each by a different student, were:

· danger of homeless/street people to self (exposure, substance abuse, neglect, health) (in Madison)

· panhandling (in downtown Madison)
