The University of Wisconsin Law Library’s Bonnie Shucha has been elected Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of the American Association of Law Libraries Computing Services Special Interest Section.
The American Association of Law Libraries is a professional organization with a membership of more than 5,000 law librarians nationwide. Its Computing Services Special Interest Section promotes the communication of ideas, interests and activities concerning technological advances in law librarianship and the practice of law.
One of the initiatives Shucha is leading is the Web 2.0 Challenge, an online course to introduce law librarians to social software and how to use it in their libraries. The Web 2.0 Challenge will provide a free, comprehensive, and social online learning opportunity designed for law librarians by directing them in hands-on use of these technologies.
Shucha also recently made a presentation at the State Bar of Wisconsin convention in which she discussed the phenomenon of legal blogs moving into the territory traditionally held by law reviews.
