Professors Allison Christians and Jason Yackee of the University of Wisconsin Law School have been named two of the four winners in the 2008 Individual Research Award competition sponsored by the UW-Madison Center for World Affairs and the Global Economy (WAGE).

Yackee and Christians each received a $10,000 grant from WAGE to explore topics relating to the consequences of and challenges posed by economic globalization and its governance.

Assistant Professor Allison Christians will research "Tax Norms and Global Governance: A Study of the Emergence and Influence of Transnational Epistemic Communities," and Assistant Professor Jason Yackee will examine "International Investment Law and the Foreign Investment Decision-Making Process: The View from the General Counsel’s Office."

The announcement of the grants to Christians and Yackee follows a previous round of WAGE competitions in which two other Law School professors, Stephanie Tai and John Ohnesorge, received major grants for collaborative three-year projects investigating the effects of globalization.
