Jeremy Adelson, who graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in May 2009, has been awarded First Prize in the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition at the Law School for his paper “Rewriting the Story of Fair Use.”
Adelson, who was also the recipient of the Law School’s Salmon Dalberg Award for an outstanding member of the graduating class, will join Michael Best & Friedrich in Milwaukee in October 2009 as an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property department.
The Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition is sponsored every year by ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. The competition, named after the lawyer who founded ASCAP in 1914, recognizes students at accredited law schools nationwide for the best papers in any area of copyright law.
