Boaventura de Souza Santos, a distinguished scholar in the UW Law School's Institute for Legal Studies, was awarded a 5-year, $3.2 million grant for a project entitled "Strange Mirrors, Unsuspected Lessons: Leading Europe to a New Way of Sharing the World Experiences." The project's objective is to develop new paradigms for social change in Europe by conducting comparative research in Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, France, India, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
