Michele LaVigne, a University of Wisconsin Law School professor, has won Wisconsin Law Journal’s 2019 Leaders in the Law award.
The award honors top judges, attorneys and legal professionals who have made a difference in Wisconsin’s legal community.
LaVigne directs the Public Defender Project, in which law students are placed as interns in public defender offices throughout Wisconsin. She also teaches courses in criminal law, professional responsibility and trial advocacy
.
