The University of Wisconsin Law School will host its 2019 UWLAWTalks series, three short, inspiring presentations by thought leaders from the Law School community. The event, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11, is part of the Law School’s All-Class Reunion and Homecoming festivities.
Among this year’s presenters is UW Law graduate and former Wisconsin governor, Tommy Thompson. The full lineup includes:
- Erin Barbato, director of UW Law’s Immigrant Justice Clinic, who teaches law students to represent individuals in removal proceedings.
- Scott Colom '09, district attorney for the 16th Circuit Court of Mississippi, who defeated a 26-year incumbent by campaigning on criminal justice reform initiatives.
- Tommy Thompson '66, who is the longest serving governor in Wisconsin’s history and the former secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
Friday’s free public event will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m., in Room 2260. Each presentation will last approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early; seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. The Law School will also stream video of the presentations to an overflow room in the building.
