David Trubek helps coordinate the project on Global Resistance to Authoritarian Resurgence (GRAD), a consortium that includes UW Law School, the FGV Law School in Sao Paulo, the Transnational Law Institute at Kings College London and the Project on Autocratic Legalism (PAL). Authoritarianism is on the rise: GRAD seeks to understand how and why this is happening and identify and assess all forms of domestic and transnational resistance to authoritarian policies and practices, including the role of law and lawyers. Studies are currently underway in Brazil, China, Hungary, India, South Africa and the United States.
