Biography

Evan Schumacher is the Program Coordinator for the State Democracy Research Initiative at University of Wisconsin Law School. He graduated in the spring of 2022 with a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.F.A. in Dance Performance at Southern Methodist University. As an undergraduate student, Evan received research grants to conduct independent research into the aesthetics and values present in classical ballet. Through this research, Evan traveled to libraries and archives in Washington, D.C., London, Paris and Copenhagen.

In 2022, Evan received a Fulbright Research Grant to continue his research in Stuttgart, Germany, where he spent a year with the Stuttgart Ballet studying the history and origins of classical ballet in Germany.
