Biography

Jennie Broecker serves as the associate director of communications for University of Wisconsin Law School.

Overall, Jennie manages internal and external communications strategies that promote UW Law School as a national leader and innovator in legal education. Day to day, she handles public relations, including media inquiries; writes and edits news releases, magazine articles, features and other content, with an emphasis on promoting faculty scholarship and visibility; advises on and produces web content and social media; and supports events, alumni relations and other activities in External Affairs.

Jennie spent the first two decades of her career in the newspaper business in various editor positions at the Rockford (Ill.) Register Star. After that, she worked briefly in economic development and software implementation roles. Most recently, she served for almost six years as strategic communications manager at the UW System Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship, which helps small businesses start and grow; she is especially proud of the critical role the organization played in pandemic relief and recovery. 

In her free time, the Wisconsin native enjoys cooking, reading, walking her dog, spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors.
