Biography
Michael is an attorney at DeWitt LLP’s Madison office. He specializes in matters relating to trusts and estates. He advises clients in both non-adversarial settings such as in the preparation and design of an estate plan and in adversarial settings such as trust and/or estate litigation.
Within the context of Michael’s estate planning practice, Michael designs and drafts comprehensive estate plans for clients with vastly diverse backgrounds, objectives, and net worths. Michael regularly advises clients his clients on probate avoidance, fiduciary income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping taxes, and business succession planning.
Michael's practice also includes representing clients in both contested and uncontested trust and estate administrations. In uncontested matters, Michael prepares estate tax returns, advises on complex irrevocable trust modifications, and advises fiduciaries on their various duties. In contested matters, Michael regularly represents clients in fiduciary litigation and in will/trust contests.
Michael is licensed in Wisconsin and South Dakota.
