Biography

Moji Olaniyan recently joined the Law School as the Assistant Dean for Academic Enhancement. She is a 1996 graduate of the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law School in Virginia.

As Director of the Academic Enhancement Program (AEP), Dean Olaniyan designs and coordinates programs and activities which foster the pursuit of academic excellence for all students. The AEP is committed to providing students with foundational, enriching, and supportive materials to nurture them intellectually and personally so they can attain their fullest potentials.

Prior to joining the Law School, Dean Olaniyan worked in the Provost's Office at Cornell University where she directed the Office of Minority Educational Affairs. Before that, she served as Deputy Associate Dean supervising a group of academic deans at the UW-Madison College of Letters and Science Student Academic Affairs.  She also served as the Chief Campus Judicial Officer for the very diverse 29,000 student body at California State University at Sacramento. 

Dean Olaniyan practiced poverty law with the Legal Aid Society in Charlottesville, Virginia where she helped to establish the practice of Special Education Law.  She also practiced family law, employment law, housing law, and education law.  For a short while, Dean Olaniyan served as an administrative appeals hearing officer for the Virginia State Department of Social Services Child Protective Service. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and is an active member, in good standing, of the Virginia State Bar.

While she is not on the job, Dean Olaniyan is an African Storyteller.  She was awarded a UW-Madison Wisconsin Idea Baldwin grant to create and develop a global cultural outreach to children in Wisconsin public schools.  Dean Olaniyan also enjoys cooking, singing, and watching or reading romantic comedies movies/books.
