Biography

Rachel Burg is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she serves as Director of the Frank J. Remington Center and Director of the Wisconsin Innocence Project. She teaches and writes in the areas of criminal law, criminal procedure, and wrongful convictions.

Before joining the UW Law School faculty, Burg spent a decade as a trial attorney with the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office and Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Tallahassee, representing clients in a wide range of criminal cases.

Burg earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an Article Editor for the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform and worked with the Michigan Innocence Clinic. Prior to law school, she completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Erfurt, Germany. She received her B.A. in Political Science and History from Gettysburg College.
