Biography
Tristan Breedlove is a Clinical Professor with the Criminal Appeals Project at the Frank J. Remington Center and additionally teaches Advanced Criminal Procedure: Representing the Criminal Appellant. Tristan also works full-time as an Assistant State Public Defender in the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Madison Appellate office. Her practice involves litigation in Wisconsin circuit courts, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Tristan has worked for the Wisconsin Public Defender's office for the last several years. Prior to that, she worked for Godfrey & Kahn in Milwaukee on the firm's litigation team. Tristan received her J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center. While there, Tristan served as the Executive Editor of the American Criminal Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Tristan worked for the Children's Defense Fund in Washington D.C. She received her B.A. in political science and sociology, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.
