Biography
Zoe Engberg is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School and Director of the Criminal Defense & Youth Advocacy Clinic. She teaches and writes in the areas of criminal law and criminal procedure, with a focus on sentencing, post-conviction law, and prison release mechanisms. Her article "Disability and Prison Release" is forthcoming in the Duke Law Journal.
Prior to joining the Law School, Professor Engberg was a trial attorney at the Bronx Defenders, a public defender's office known for its innovative model of holistic representation. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University School of Law, where she was awarded the Root-Tilden-Kern public interest scholarship. Before law school, Professor Engberg was an investigator at the Orleans Public Defenders Office, where she helped develop the office's capital defense practice.
