The UW-Madison Counseling Psychology Department is pleased, again, to host a Student Colloquium on Thursday, March 30th, 2006 from 5pm-6:30pm. This year the Student Colloquium will be part of the Spring Mini-Conference: "After the Storm: Recognition, Recovery, and Empowerment.” The conference runs from Thursday, March 30th-Friday, March 31st. For the past several years, this event has been an exciting showcase for our own students' work in various areas of social justice. Many students have shared ideas and work they've done from class papers and independent research projects, or thesis and dissertation topics. Details of this year’s conference, as well as past years’ presentations can be viewed at the following website: http://www.education.wisc.edu/cp/conferences.htm/ You are invited to submit an abstract proposal with a maximum of 200 words for a presentation that you would like to make on a topic related to any aspect of social justice. Please include your name and brief description of the topic for presentation, including any implications for training, practice, or research. Requests for audio-visual equipment should be made at this time. Please submit your proposals by Monday, February 6 via email, to the following address: socialjusticeconference@hotmail.com. You may include your proposal in the body of the e-mail or attach a Word document. The proposals will be reviewed by faculty and students on the Student Colloquium subcommittee. Notifications of accepted proposals will be made via email sometime in mid February. Thank you and we look forward to your participation in and support of this event.
