Course Information

Course Preference Survey & Authorization

Before the start of each semester, LL.M. students will receive an email from the Graduate Programs Office with a survey to select their preference of elective courses. After reviewing all responses from the course preference survey, each student will be notified via email from the Graduate Programs Office when they are able to enroll in courses.

Review the instructions on how to add and enroll courses by class number (PDF). You can also view additional enrollment instructions from the UW Office of the Registrar.

International Student Services and Visa Information

For information regarding F-1 and J-1 visas, please review the ISS Current Students Resources. ISS strives to keep all current international students with F-1 and J-1 visas up to date on their legal responsibilities in the U.S. If after reading this information you still have questions, please feel free to contact ISS for more detailed information. If you have an F-1 or J-1 student visa, you are responsible to know the end date on your I-20 or DS-2019.

If you have not completed your program by the end date on your I-20 or DS-2019, please email the Graduate Programs Office at GPO@law.wisc.edu to find out how to extend your I-20 or DS-2019.
