A warm welcome to the incoming class of 2020 and welcome back to all our returning students.  The Law Library staff encourages you to use the library and it's resources to the fullest extent while you are in Law School. We are happy to help in any way possible!

It goes without saying that the Law Library is the quietest library on campus, and certainly one of the most beautiful. We are open from early in the morning until late at night. Our hours are always available online, posted at the front door, and on our digital sign. With a comfortable environment for individual study as well as collaboration space and technology, the Law Library reading rooms are extremely popular.

Consider the Law Library website as your gateway for information.  You can reserve a study room, chat with a librarian, like us on Facebook, or even find restaurant recommendations in the area.  More importantly, the UW Catalog provides access to books, journals, articles and databases here at the Law Library as well as holdings across the UW System.  Be sure to review our selection of Research Guides, including the timely 1L Survival Guide or the time-saving Legal Apps Guide for Androids and iPads. And for remote, 24/7 access to all these resources simply sign into the UW portal with your net ID and navigate to the library webpage.

Stop at the circulation desk to check out books, course readings, study guides, study rooms, or law classics like "Prosser on Torts".  We also have a fun collection of legal themed DVDs and for American history enthusiasts, browse the Lincoln Collection in the Quarles & Brady Reading Room.

Whenever research assistance is required, the reference staff is knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help by email, chat, telephone or in person. The reference staff are available from 9am until 9pm Monday through Thursday, 9 to 5 on Friday, and 1 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. Please come and ask us anything! We love your questions, and hope to help you out as much as possible over the coming years.

We hope to see you in the Law Library soon, or at least 'see' you on our website. The Law Library staff looks forward to meeting you! Good luck this semester!
