The Federal Reserve has launched a new Web resource, Bank Director's Desktop to give new bank directors resources that will help them ensure the safety of their banks.  This resource features a training session for bank directors as well as resources to locate federal laws, rules and regulations.  It also provides a site where bank directors can comment on proposed regulations and view the comments of others interested in a proposed regulation.

This site also provides a down-loadable book for Bank Directors, Basics for Bank Directors.  The goal of this book, first published in the 1980s, is to provide bank directors with basic information that defines their role and helps them evaluate their institution's operation.  This book works as a primer for anyone interested in bank regulation and compliance. It offers a chapter on bank safety and soundness, bank compliance, and other tools and advice for managing banking operations.

In the Resources section of this site, a variety of topics are featured including:   Director Resources, Examination Resources, Regulatory Agencies, and Comments on Regulations.
