Clinical Professor Michele LaVigne will present argument as an amicus in the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 3rd.  The case, State v. UPDATE:  The Supreme Court held that simply asking whether a defender read and signed the guilty plea form was insufficient to permit the trial court to find that a guilty plea was knowing, intelligent and voluntary.  Instead the trial court has to personally engage the defendant to make sure the defendant has the proper level of understanding.
