Forest Shomberg, a Madison man sentenced to twelve years in prison after being convicted of a sexual assault was released on November 13, 2009, through the efforts of the Wisconsin Innocence Project. Dane County Circuit Court Judge Patrick Fiedler overturned Shomberg’s conviction on the strength of new "touch DNA" evidence.
