The University of Wisconsin Law School has extended its application deadline for Fall 2020 admissions. Applications for the J.D. program will now be accepted through May 1, 2020.
The decision follows the UW’s closure of all campus buildings as a precaution against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. UW Law canceled its annual Admitted Students Weekend, which had been scheduled for late March. In place of on-campus programming, a series of online sessions with admitted students were held and recorded for later viewing.
Rebecca Scheller, assistant dean of admissions, says UW Law is committed to helping prospective students find their path forward, under unprecedented circumstances.
“In light of the current situation, we want to be flexible and responsive to prospective students who had planned to submit materials for the current application cycle. This extension ensures that applicants can prioritize their health and safety during this challenging time,” she says.
Scheller encourages prospective students to contact UW Law’s admissions office for additional information, or to arrange for online visits with students and faculty.
