Over the years, many veterans and military-connected students have joined our Law School after completing their military service, others are currently enrolled in classes while they continue to serve, and children, and spouses of current or former members of the military have become part of our rich community. We are grateful for veterans commitment to our national welfare and for the wisdom, skills and experience they bring to our program.
We encourage our military-connected students to learn more about our community and to take advantage of the resources listed on this page.
Law School, Campus and Community Resources
JD Students Veterans Club
The JD Student Veterans Club (SVC) provides a social, academic and networking forum for student veterans, as well as students interested in military careers.
Student Veterans of America
Student Veterans of America (SVA) is a strong student-veteran organization that has been on campus since 1972 and serves as UW-Madison's local Student Veterans of America chapter. To learn more about SVA, contact: vets@rso.wisc.edu.
University Veterans Services
The University Veterans Services supports military-connected students by fostering transitions and pursuit of academic success. They serve students in three key areas of focus: education benefits, student success, and advocacy.
Wisconsin GI Bill
In general, the Wisconsin GI Bill provides remission of 100% of standard academic and segregated fees as a University of Wisconsin System institution to eligible Wisconsin veterans and their dependents.
Individual students should contact University Veterans Services with specific questions regarding eligibility for benefits.
