Biography
Kate Finley is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Remington Center, and she directs the Second Look Clinic, which seeks sentencing relief for people serving excessive prison sentences. Prior to joining the Law School, Finley was a clinical fellow for the Criminal & Youth Justice and Child Advocacy clinics at Rutgers Law School-Newark.
Professor Finley worked for the International Criminal Court's Chambers (Trial Divison) in The Hague from 2009 to 2014. She is also a former public defender who represented clients in Baltimore and Montgomery County, Maryland. Finley additionally worked as a program associate at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she focused on postsecondary prison education and expanding access to public housing. Finley received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.
