The Indigenous Law Students Association (ILSA) is unique among law school student organizations, serving as a community for indigenous law students, their allies, and a platform for those interested in Federal Indian law and Tribal law. ILSA builds a strong community through peer support, collaborative study groups, and networking opportunities.
ILSA was one of several student organizations that led a campaign to establish the Legal Education Opportunities Program, which supports diverse law students. Additionally, ILSA bridges the larger University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and legal community by hosting the annual Coming Together of the Peoples Conference, the nation’s longest-running student-led conference in the field.
