Hannah Malicky
Earthjustice, Midwest Regional Team
Hannah Malicky spent her past summer clerking for Earthjustice's Midwest Regional Team in Chicago. There, she worked alongside attorneys representing the Bad River Band on Wisconsin's Line 5 Reroute case to write briefs and support legal research. This work is a continuation of her previous summer at Midwest Environmental Advocates, where she supported preparation efforts for the contested case hearing on the Reroute.
Jacob Botsford
Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, Office of the Attorney General
Jacob Botsford interned with the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe in the Office of the Attorney General. He researched Tribal Law-specific topics like Tribal sovereign immunity as well as more general topics viewed through a Tribal lens, like choice of law clauses. He assisted with research and drafting of two new sections in the Tribe's code of law. Additionally, he observed the Tribe's court proceedings and attended committee meetings ranging from Housing Development to Child Protective Services.
Noah Lee
Judicare Legal Aid, Indian Law Office
Noah Lee worked in the Judicare Legal Aid, Indian Law Office, where he helped the Wisconsin Tribal Judges Association and Wisconsin Tribal Clerk of Courts Association regain their nonprofit status. Noah went through more than 120 pages of material and drafted a memo outlining the history and next steps of the project.
Kennedy Allison
Lac Courte Oreilles, Attorney General's Office
While in the Lac Courte Oreilles Attorney General's Office, Kennedy worked to make tribal statutes available online. Prior to her work on this project, all of Lac Courte Oreilles' statutes were only available in a physical form. Kennedy's work focused on reformatting and updating statutes to fit new drafting guidelines.
