
Nine University of Wisconsin Law School clinical professors, instructors and fellows presented at the 2025 Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Conference on Clinical Legal Education on April 26-29 in Baltimore. This year’s conference theme was “Reexamining the Role of Lawyers and the Responsibilities of Clinical Teachers in Society.” With over 400 speakers, 125 sessions and more than 830 legal educators in attendance, this was the largest AALS Conference on Clinical Legal Education.
UW Law presenters made a strong showing at this national forum across several sessions:

- Rachel Burg, clinical assistant professor and co-director of the Wisconsin Innocence Project, and Engberg: The Pedagogy of Uncomfortable Collaboration: Teaching Others to Navigate Cooperation Amongst Adversaries
- Emily Buchholz, clinical associate professor and director of the Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic: Empowering Underserved Entrepreneurs: Innovative Collaborations and Funding Strategies for Entrepreneurship and IP Clinics
- Cary Bloodworth, clinical instructor: Building Bridges: How Cross-Clinic Programming Maximizes Learning and Community
- Erin Barbato, clinical associate professor and director of the Immigrant Justice Clinic: Navigating the Border – Ethical, Existential and Logistical Considerations in Law School Service Trips
